Originally from Tidewater, VA., Richard served as Spiritual Leader of Unity El Paso from 1999 to 2004 with his wife and partner in ministry, Rev. Victoria W. Bunch. They have four children and six grandchildren. Richard became a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2001, and was ordained by the Association of Unity Churches International in May, 2006.
During his ministry at Unity El Paso, the church became financially solvent and grew from 63 members to 183. He facilitated the remodeling of the sanctuary and established an outreach program that served over 300 people, Chaplains program and Youth and Family Ministry, as well as Vice-President of the El Paso Interfaith Council.
While at Unity Institute during 2004-2006, Richard served as President of the Class of 2006 and has been involved in committees and action teams throughout Unity Village and the Association for Unity Churches International. Richard has served as platform assistant at Unity Village Chapel, SEE teacher and workshop facilitator.
He is a published author on prosperity (The Flow of Abundance, Your Passport to Prosperity, 2006), and was featured in a promotional video for Unity Village. Richard received a Men of Unity Scholarship while at Unity Institute, was Co-chair for the Dedication of Spiritual Life Center, Unity Village, and a prayer partner with Silent Unity Telephone Prayer Ministry.
Richard also has been an active member of the Prosperity/Fund Raising Ministry team for our Association, as well as a contributing author for Developing Prosperity in Your Ministry, Chapter 1, 2005. See the Association website, www.unity.org, for a copy of this publication.
With a Master of Science degree in Financial Services and undergraduate education in history at the University of Richmond, his professional background includes serving as President of a financial services company and being a featured speaker for the financial services industry throughout the United States from 1974 to 1998. Additionally, Richard has served on numerous charitable, political and religious boards during his career, has been active in fundraising for non-profit organizations and an active member of several civic organizations. He enjoys running, golf and reading…and now remodeling a “new” 1944 home.
