There are two types of fires -- flaming and smoldering. Flaming fire produces flames, heat, and light. It becomes one with its fuel source and generates a much higher temperature and greater light. Smoldering fire is low in heat and burns only on the surface producing glowing coals. Yet, it maintains a readiness to burn at a higher intensity and burst into flames with the right energy source.
Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid... In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”
As each individual in our church community develops the consciousness of God as Absolute Good working in and through our lives through prayer, meditation, classes, tithing and service, there is a discovery of one’s spiritual powers to move into alignment with the source and force of all creation, God, the Good. An openness begins to occurs. Little glimpses of Truth raise our consciousness. Divine Spirit breathes Life into our minds and bodies and ignites the possibility of a “LoveLight” to be recognized within us. Voila! First a “spark…then a fire!” This is the transformation process.
This is when “spiritual flames” burst forth within us generating increased happiness and energy in our lives and spread outward into increased satisfaction with ourselves, families, jobs, relationships and activities. We have a new consciousness and a new perspective to life.
As each person in Unity of Richmond “Grows in Spirit” – grows in consciousness – one learns to BE on fire with our spiritual journey. Our LoveLight shines forth. Then, together in Love and Light, we become a “great flame” of the Christ consciousness – on “Fire” with whatever is ours to do. Let’s do it!
